Completely worth it!

I purchased the first time tri v1.7 and went through it twice. The second time was more of a self competition with my notes and progress from the first go around. I did a triathlon last year and thought I had a good plan. I was wrong. I did the same triathlon this year after using the app for 24 weeks, and knocked 20 minutes off of last years time! I feel great and am going to go ahead and get the next plan up. Thanks for a great app and keep up the good work!

1st time Tri

This app was well worth it! I am new to the triathlon world, so I wanted to be sure I was well prepared for my first one. The app was well organized, it was nice to view it when i needed to. No papers or books to carry with me, just my iPhone. The tips were also very helpful in my preparation for this event. I liked that I was able to input what I completed in order to compare it to what goal I set for myself. It sort of held me accountable to what the expectation was to accomplish the actual event. Overall, I was pleased with the app and will definitely bump it up a notch to the distance :-)!! Thank you for helping me through this challenging experience. I think this will be a part of my life, long term. Till my next Tri!!

Great training app!

I just completed my first sprint tri using this app as my primary training schedule. I really loved this app! You can adjust your weekly day off as you go and change the schedule if you need to. The only thing that was annoying was that you cant change the workout after the day has passed. So if you change your workout last minute make sure you adjust the schedule in the app before the end of that day! Definitely recommend this for first time triathletes!

Not bad

Good for a guide to a sprint tri but could be better. Would be nice to be able to input distance as well as minutes for bike and run, have a pace be calculated, and have some different graphs/results allowing you to see progress at a glance. Im by no means an experienced triathlete, only done one sprint so far but Im already wanting more functionality.

Really??

Lovely. Ive just paid $7 for a photo of a woman in a triathlon. Im sure this would be a helpful app - IF IT DID ANYTHING after installation. I was careful in my research and looking forward to a helpful new tool logging my training plan tonight. Will instead be pursuing a refund.

Wonderful app!!

Just finished my first triathlon and used this as the training guide. WONDERFUL APP. I felt prepared and confident going into AND finishing the race. Many different schedules to choose from which I often needed. This app lets you choose which day you want your rest day and each workout. Also gives you some helpful hints for everything tri. For improvements, maybe letting us grab and drag which days we want which workouts would be best? Also would love it if a time basis option was added to the swim and a distance basis added to the bike and run portions. Thanks!

excellent trainer

I used this for my first tris and ended up placing 1st in my AG. This application is simply top notch. It has useful tips, the workouts are explained in detail, and training is really explained in depth. The app allows for great individual customization for development of your work out plan based on your experience and when you want a rest day. I have also contacted Jamima (pro triathelte) directly via email and got responses and training tips from her. Name any other app where you have the opportunity to speak to a professional! Thank you for such an affordable and comprehensive trainer!

It works!

I used this for my first Tri this past weekend. I started out as a couch potato 4 months before race. I used the c25k app to get up to a 5k run and used the swim and bike workouts in the first couple of weeks of this app for the first month. With 12 weeks to go I began following this app as directed. Loved the flexibility of moving training days and level around as needed. Bottom line - I finished really strong and felt great the whole way through - the app prepares you well!

App now works great!

I originally negatively reviewed the app before the iOS6 update because it would crash… but that has all been fixed now and the app works great!

Great app!

Love this app! Did every workout and was very well prepared for my first triathlon. Finished 13th in my age group. The app has graphs that chart your progress, these were very motivating for me and the workouts were just the right level of challenge. I trained for 12 weeks injury free!

Great Training!

I used this app to help me train for my first triathlon. Im a complete newbie to the world of multisports, and really needed a training plan for a beginner. I just completed my first triathlon on Saturday, and it was an awesome experience. I even placed 3rd! The tips in the app were extremely helpful, and the specific training exercises were crucial. The best part of completing my first Tri was that I was not in any pain nor sore by the second day afterwards. On the contrary, I actually felt stronger! Thanks Jammyco for providing this app for beginners! Im looking forward toy next Tri in 11 weeks! Sincerely, LD

Bricks only on weekdays

Not sure if Im doing something wrong but of the 48 possible schedules, there seem to be no options with bricks on the weekend. I want to love this app but the scheduling/rescheduling options are limited. How about a drag option so users can just move the order of the workouts for the week?

2nd time triathlete

I am 45 and completed a sprint triathlon last August with a time of 1:55. I will spare you the details but its obvious my prep for the race was not structured in a meaningful way. As a result of my poor prep I looked for and found the 1st Time Tri app. I registered for a second sprint distance race and began the program 3 months out. I am very pleased with the results. I finished in 1:38, taking 17 minutes off my earlier time. I was able to complete each segment without stopping. I think the app certainly delivered in terms of ensuring an individual can comfortably complete each discipline without issue. My only criticism would be the ability to shuffle workouts around a bit easier but I believe this is being addressed. I wish I had known of this app for my first race but am quite happy to have had it for the second race! Well worth the money.

Perfect for first timers!

This app was perfect for training for my first triathlon. It started at a point easy enough to do and progressed smoothly to being totally ready for the race. I was able to finish strong and beat my goal time by almost 3 minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get into the world of triathlons!

Something To Look Forward To

I am starting with a Mini Sprint (swim 250 yards, bike 7 miles and run 2 miles) so this doesnt help me yet. I should be working on my first real Sprint Tri for beginning of next season, so this will be great then.

Great app

It helped get me where I needed to be for my first Tri. Easy to use and kept me on track until race day!

Great app but needs some tweaks

This app is awesome for training as a beginner. It would be great though if there was a way to "check off" the workouts so you know which ones youve completed.

Great app

Great app. Will only let you use it once. Tried to put in another date and would freeze and not let you go any further. Great for first time.

First time tri - great app

This was my first tri and I had no idea how to start training. This was perfect. Very well structured and easy to follow. I highly recommend it!
